||・ Designs and recommends training programs for field personnel to improve the knowledge and application of selling techniques that mutually benefit the company and the customer by providing accurate and persuasive information about our products and services.
・ Responsible for development of Commercial training criteria and programs through internal teams and external vendors within an assigned therapeutic area.
・ Manages the development and planning of initial training for new Commercial hires.
・ Coordinates the involvement of internal and external training participants.
・ Partners with relevant internal departments, including Marketing, Commercial (management, Field Sales, National Accounts and regional trainers), Commercial Operations, Medical Information, Legal, Business Conduct and Regulatory.
・ Responsible for hiring, leading, developing and promoting more junior employees within Learning and Development.
・ Uses sales performance metrics and analysis to identify areas of improvement in the existing training and development design and roll-out methodology.
・ Responsible for identifying the business process and actions where a work unit needs to excel in order to achieve its goals.
・ May moderate training sessions either in person or via web-based presentation/meeting tools.
・ Develops and implements the Commercial Training Program operational platform including establishing standard operating procedures, timeliness, curriculum and resources for:
- Business conduct training
- New-hire orientation
- Core knowledge-based training for HIV
- Core skill-based training
- Preceptor ships
- Managerial training
- Professional/career development
・ Responsible for analyzing the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their potential use in instructional design at the company.
||Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
・ Must have strong skills in curricula and content design and development.
・ Must possess strong skills in all of the following: project management, first line management, leadership, interpersonal communication, facilitation, problem solving, and decision making.
・ Excellent planner with ability to formulate, develop and execute training strategy and promote collaboration, partnerships and relationships among the participants in a design project.
・ Ability to apply strong business and financial management skills to the Learning and Development function including both design and delivery of training.
・ Strong commercial training skills and thorough knowledge and/or expertise in each area (e.g., selling skills, core business skills, specialized skills).
・ Strong familiarity and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for Commercial (and other) training are required.
・ Other relevant knowledge may include clinical, product, compliance, work rules, and sales force automation.
・ Demonstrated ability to manage budgets.
・ Ability to lead in a matrix team.
・ Ability to lead and develop direct reports if having the staffs.
・ 10+ years of total experience related to both training and Sales and Sales management experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry.
・ BS or BA degree required with a concentration in Science, Education, Business or Marketing.
・ 3+ years of successful Field Sales management experience typically required.
・ 2+ years of experience in commercial training or health education experience.
・ In-depth knowledge and experience in specialty therapeutics market is preferred.
