Protect the company from legal risks, proactively handling with the legal matters including legal advice, legal check, litigation and other types of disputes and management of outside counsels, demonstrating leaderships towards the relevant departments in doing them, being capable of suggesting practical solutions for issues and problems, by means of leveraging business knowledge about the non-life insurance industry, professional knowledge about the Insurance Act and other relevant laws and regulations and skills of legal analysis, oversee Legal, Compliance, and Quality Assurance teams to lead and maintain corporate strategic and robust legal initiatives.
1. Set internal governance policies for legal, compliance, and quality assurance matters
2. Respond with strategic legal advice to the departments and management inquiring legal and compliance matters
Make prompt legal advice, if necessary, by usage of outside professionals
Make sure that the company retains its interests appropriately and sufficiently in preparing for written contracts and other legal documents
Provide appropriate solutions in a timely manner through making wide -range of legal analysis in considering the business strategy
3. Demonstrate professionalism in dispute handling
Provide with a clear view on the direction and necessary advice to protect the legitimate interests of the policyholders and the company in legal procedures and the other types of disputes.
4. Enlightening legal and compliance risk in the company
Make proactive information sharing within the company by means of proactively researching the trend of laws, judicial precedents and the relevant regulations.
Provide with activities of enlightenment on the matter of legal and compliance risk management with cooperation of the compliance resources.

・ Knowledge and skill of judgment on the following:
1） The Insurance Business Act, the Insurance Act and the Civil Code, etc. (Required to be able to provide legal advice on each area of regulatory approval/license/registration, product approval, underwriting, and payment of claims & benefits.)
２） The Financial Instrument and Exchange Law and other investment transactions, international transactions, drafting and reviewing contracts in English
３） The matters on the Corporation Law and corporate governance in general
４） Handling with sensitive matters on labor issues including sexual harassment, scandalous incidents, dismissal, etc.
５） Handling with disputes both inside and outside court procedures including litigation, compulsory execution, ADR, etc.
６） Promote project of establishing compliance structure for new regulations such as AML related regulations and Personal Information Protection Law
７） Advisory for the business strategy, operations, processes, etc. from legal and compliance points of views
